SoloCamp Leeds: Reflections

Page history last edited by Stephanie Booth 12 years, 8 months ago

Please use this page to record any thoughts that have come to you post-event. Ideas you've taken away, things you learnt, ideas for next time, etc.

Here are some of the (many) ideas which have stuck in my mind since yesterday...

  • Personal branding matters - I have no excuse to procrastinate over this any more
  • Have short, medium and long-term marketing goals. Do something on each every week
  • Don't sell yourself cheap - or you'll always be cheap
  • Have jobs agreed in writing before you start - and update it if the job changes
  • Don't price per hour, price according to the value to the client
  • Get some Moo cards. They are nice.
  • Get a desk in the co-working space at NTI Leeds. There are tons of reasons to get out of working in the spare bedroom.
  • Set follow-up meetings with clients (for signing agreements, seeing how they're doing 3 months later) to prevent things from just dissolving.

And, once again, thanks to everyone who came, participated and shared their experiences so generously.
